Orchids are a passion. After leaving London, I bought an orchid farm near Byron Bay, Australia. I have since downsized my property but, I still retain a small orchid collection. Cymbidiums, Oncidiums, and a few prized Cattleyas make up the collection.
I’ve always been fascinated by the orchid’s exotic nature. One of my favorites is Cattleya Dowiana with its yellow flower with a gold-veined purple lip and glorious fragrance. What a joy to behold! This orchid was discovered in Costa Rica in 1848.
Cattleya Percivaliana is a violet and burgundy beauty that hails from Venezuela.
My orchid house is one of my major indulgences. But, it’s been worth every penny because it gives me such pleasure. They are like my botanical babies!
Pottering around in the orchid house can eat up the hours. I find it very calming and therapeutic!
